Court sets hearing date for Criminal defamation case against journalist

Lyantonde, 21st /July/ 2016; The Magistrates Court in Lyantonde has today, 21st /July 2016, set 28th /July 2016, as a date for hearing the criminal defamation case against Sadati Waligo, a Red Pepper correspondent in Lyantonde District. Sadati is accused of publishing libellous material against the resident District Commissioner of Lyantonde, Sulaiman Tugaragara Matojo Ssalongo.

Lyantonde, 23rd /June/ 2016; Sadati Waliggo, of Red Pepper newspaper was today morning 23rd /June/ 2016 granted a non cash bail of five hundred thousand Uganda shillings (USD 151) by Lyantonde Grade One Magistrate Muinda Tadeo. His sureties, Paul Sekandi, a journalist with Link FM and Nuruyati Namuleme a business woman were each required to pay two million Uganda

Lyantonde, 21st /June/ 2016; Waligo Sadati a journalist with Red Pepper, based in Lyantonde District has today 21st /June/ 2016 been remanded over criminal defamation charges.
